I'm Back

Been off the internet or have had unreliable access to it for the last 18 months, but now I'm back. :boogie:

I'm blown away by the wonderful comments, faves and features I've received in my absence.
Its humbling to know there is so much support and love out there in the DA community. Its truly inspiring.

Thanks to all of those terrific people who looked, commented, faved and featured my work. There are too many to thank individually.

The other amazing thing that happened in my absence was that I received a DD for 'Dragonfly with Gumnuts'! :faint:

A Muggles Life

I'm living without the wizardry of the internet these days.

I only get online for an hour or so each week.:(

Really missing the inspiration and motivation I get from you guys.

Many thanks for coming by to look, favor and comment. It nurtures my creativity.

I've started a new life. Scary but exciting. Still taking the photos and creating the fibre art, so keep posted. :D

The rich ochres have captured the outback colours of Australia and the aqua is the ocean that surrounds us.
The circle is a strong symbol in Aboriginal culture which represents a water hole or meeting place.
What ties it all together for me is the stone.
Stunning!

Work in Progress

A peak at what I'm working on at the moment.
Its a silk painting 14" x 28" or 36cm x 71cm.
When the painting and steaming process has been completed, it will be layered, quilted, embellished with hand and machine stitching and lots of beads.

I'm not happy with the crimson background and a few bleeds of colour.
Will start the whole process again. :faint:

Would value opinions about the the background colour. :D

Working up the design.
WIP Silk Painting II by suedollinQuilts

Design traced onto the silk, lines drawn with gutta to seal the shapes for colouring. First colour applied. So far so good. :D

Painted. Not steamed at this stage. More colour yet to be added to the circles which will be heavily beaded later.
